Are you a jobseeker aged 18 or over? Do you enjoy caring for people, and seeing them feel better thanks to you?

Then you could make a great Apprentice Healthcare Support Worker.

On this 3 week online programme you’ll get the knowledge and skills you need to become an Apprentice Healthcare Support Worker at one of West Yorkshire’s hospitals.

At the end, you’ll have a guaranteed interview for the job, that we’ll help you prepare for.

We want you to succeed:

  • Free to join
  • Guaranteed interview in a West Yorkshire hospital such as Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, Leeds Community Care Trust or Leeds and York NHS Partnership Foundation Trust after the course
  • No experience needed
  • Get a head start on pre-employment checks!
  • Prepare for the Care Certificate qualification
  • Continue to claim benefits and UC throughout the course
  • Shadowing of healthcare assistants in a clinical and community care setting
  • Childcare Support We have developed an initiative to offer financial support and advice for any additional childcare responsibilities  parents may have to manage while they are on programmes and interviewing for roles with us at Generation.

    Functional Skills

    In your own time, complete a functional skills assessment. Don’t worry, you don’t need to have any existing knowledge or experience to be able to complete them.

    Attend the Information Day

    Intro session: Find out more about this 3 week Health and Care bootcamp, hear from employers and previous bootcamp learners who have now secured employment.

    Next Steps Briefing: We'll talk you through how to complete your application. One of the next steps will involve an informal interview with one of the Team, you can choose to record this in your own time, or have a live zoom call.

Requirements

  • Aged 18+
  • Not currently in education, training, or employment
  • Currently living in West Yorkshire, Harrogate, York, Selby or Barnsley
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Available for 3 weeks in April 2022, and ready to start a full time job straight after the course
  • Passionate about a career in healthcare

    You’ll interview with the hospital, who have vacancies reserved especially for Generation graduates. We’ll continue to support you as you start in your new role.
