Keseana’s story: Tech Talent Accelerator program
Before Generation, Keseana worked in retail and customer service, but was unemployed when she discovered Generation via an organisational partner, WhiteHat. She applied right away, and with this new energy for tech began taking free HTML, Codecademy, and Codewars courses online and watching YouTube videos about the daily tasks of software engineers.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROGRAM
Keseana got significant value from the behaviour and mindset training modules in the Generation program. Behavioural interview questions used to make her stumble, but now she communicates confidently about time management and project planning. She also appreciated how the instructors helped her identify her natural talents and strengths, like her curiosity and willingness to try new things.
She participated in many of the interview & CV support sessions with Generation and began building a portfolio of her projects. In all of her interviews, she felt highly prepared for the technical and behavioural questions. She’s now an active member of Coding Black Females.
