Before Generation, Esther had just moved to the UK and was struggling with the confidence needed to get a job in care.

“Before joining the bootcamp, I had just arrived in the country and needed help figuring out how to get a job in the care sector. I was interested in care because of an experience I had taking care of my grandmom.”

Esther joined the first Generation Healthcare bootcamp in Manchester and graduated in December 2023. On the programme she tackled challenging topics which prepared her for a career in care.

“Learning about how to care for people with mental health conditions had me excited and further strengthened my love for care…the Generation boot camp gave me the confidence I needed to go for the role that mattered to me.”

After graduation, Esther landed a job in the industry of her dreams as a Endoscopy Healthcare Assistant at Community Health and Eyecare Ltd in Manchester.

“I enjoy support from my colleagues, future progression opportunities, and a healthy work environment. I am most excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for me. The future seems bright. And I am grateful for the role Generation played in all of this. I had a great foundation to start with.”

The Generation bootcamp has had a huge impact on Esther’s life and helped her to get a job in an industry that is meaningful to her.

“Gaining employment has given me financial stability, the ability to support my family, and the opportunity to do something meaningful with my time. I can make donations and volunteer for causes I believe in.“
