Empower and Support
We know that people do their best when treated with kindness and respect. We support and develop each other personally and professionally, allowing our unique talents and capabilities to flourish.
Better our Best
We will never be perfect, and we always have more to learn. As long as we use data, experience, and dialogue to grow and improve, we are moving in the right direction.
Solve Problems that Matter
We work on activities that do the most to advance our mission, and rigorously measure our impact to guide where we spend our time and resources.
Here to Serve
We commit to enabling the learning and growth of our participants, and to providing great talent for our employer partners. One alone is not enough, our success depends on serving both groups.

Our leadership team
Michael Houlihan — Chief Executive Officer
Michael is CEO of Generation UK & Ireland, having joined in 2018 to first launch and then grow the charity’s impact. Outside of work, Michael can often be found running around Greenwich Park early in the mornings with his daughter and dog.
Jess Sewter — Chief Partnerships Officer
Jess leads our partnerships team, connecting our learners to incredible employment opportunities and building relationships with employers in the regions we serve.
Mangala Nanda — Chief Learning Officer
Mangala leads our Learning team, ensuring that all our learners can access excellent training and support — and are ready to successfully apply for a career-launching job. Prior to joining Generation, Mangala held leadership positions in schools, colleges and the charity sector in England and India.
Hugh Chatfield — Director of Growth
Hugh leads our Growth, Data and Operations team. When out of work, Hugh spends as much time as possible running in the mountains, claiming that fell running, ultra-running marathon running and trail running are actually very different sports and worrying that he doesn’t have the right shoes.
Yasmeen Diwan Seth — People Director
Yasmeen leads our People function and works with UK and Ireland leaders to enhance our people’s employment experience with Generation. Outside of work, Yasmeen is a mum to two teens and loves the outdoors.
Stefanie Hurrell — Director of Admissions
Stefanie leads our Admissions team, working with our sector partners to reach and support potential applicants to access our life-changing skills boot camps. Outside of work, Stefanie can be found attempting to learn Danish and running away to Scandinavia any chance she gets.
